Airlie Beach Tours

Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Whitsundays, part of a picture-perfect peninsula that reaches out into the Whitsunday Passage and provides a mainland base for holiday fun and exploration in the pristine 74 islands of Queensland’s Whitsundays.

Airlie Beach is a colourful cosmopolitan holiday town boasting a sun-soaked, palm-fringed beachfront. Superb views await you of yachts bobbing in the calm waters of Pioneer Bay from Airlie’s waterfront parks and alfresco dining restaurants with fresh seafood to die for.

Airlie Beach Lagoon, a man-made saltwater swimming area surrounded by sand and grassy knolls, provides stinger-free swimming with lifeguard attendants and a children’s pool. You can always spot backpackers and travellers basking in the sun at the lagoon or enjoying the beachside parks where a good bbq is always the order of the day (and the evening!).

The drive into Airlie Beach through the neighbouring Cannonvale sees the road climb above Abel Point Marina, providing fantastic views of the jagged coastline and the outline of distant Whitsunday islands on the horizon. Scooter rental and a packed lunch is all you need to take full advantage of these amazing views and the beauty of the surrounding area.

Airlie Beach is a beach town par excellence – you can’t avoid the holiday vibe and the carefree and relaxed tropical ambience emanating from every space, the perfect destination for a romantic getaway. This ambience extends long into the night as you enjoy the entertainment of the nightlife in the fabulous bars and restaurants of Airlie, always busy with travellers and backpackers. You’ll find it hard to leave Airlie Beach!

Airlie Beach offers travellers a wide range of accommodation from luxurious waterside and hillside resort hotels and apartments, to b&b lodgings, motels, camping and caravan parks as well as a host of backpacker hostels.

Airlie provides many of the essential services for travellers in the region and the town’s shopping areas are open seven days a week. Every Saturday a market takes over the foreshore parkland with stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, local arts and craft goods under the shade of palm trees. Besides weekly community events, there are top annual headliners including the Whitsunday Fun Race Festival every September.
